Taking Zoe to the Doc

We took Zoe to the doctor today. It was a nice sunny day, so we walked. Renee is doing really well, walked the whole way there and back just fine. We got the sling system all setup so I could carry Zoe easily.

The visit to the doctor was very encouraging. Zoe has already gone back to her birth weight, and she is only 5 days old. Apparently this is extremely fast weight gain, and it can often take up to 10 or more days for that to happen. It's a big boost in confidence for Renee that she is feeding right :)

We took Zoe to my work yesterday and then to Grandma's house to see all the puppies. Comparing Zoe to the size of Thunder's head was great...

Zoe Is Born!

Hey everyone! On February 6th, 2009, Zoe Jane Hanson was born at 12:04 pm. She weighed 8lbs 4oz and was 20 inches long.

Here's Renee with baby Zoe:

And here's Mom and Dad:

Renee was in labor for about 15 hours. She did really well! Zoe was delivered very healthy. We stayed in the hospital overnight, and we had some visitors to keep us company:

There were a lot of cameras flying around, lots of pictures taken. My camera wasn't accessible for a lot of the time, so I don't have all the pictures ready yet. I'll add more as I get a hold of them.

Thanks everyone for all of their help and support! Everyone helped make all the tough stuff more manageable :)
